Charity dinner celebrates a Hogwarts Christmas in New Hamburg

By michael - Posted on 06 November 2008

Aiming for "feasting, festivities, frivolity and fun", a local group of witches and wizards are busy preparing for a "Hogwarts Christmas" charity dinner to be held on Dec. 4, 2008 in New Hamburg. Wizards and muggles alike are encouraged to attend the event in costume for this magical feast.

Hogwarts Christmas is the third Potter themed event being held in the area, following the first two wildly successful Harry Potter Festivals that gained national media attention. This event hopes to raise money for the Children's Voice, a charity setup by JK Rowling's Children High Level Group.

Update 2008/11/16: The date for this charity dinner is fast approaching. There's a late-breaking addition to the dinner line-up as well. I've been informed that if attendance for the event reaches 150 people, everyone will have a chance at winning a first edition Half-Blood Prince hardcover book signed by J.K. Rowling herself! I've seen the book myself... very exciting!
