The banner ads displayed at the top of each page (as opposed to the Google ads that may appear) here on MGHiemstra.com are not generating me any cash. They're provided at no cost to the advertisers, in fact most if not all businesses don't even know the ads are here. They are here because I'm experimenting with Internet advertising. If you happen to follow an ad to that leads to a purchase or a store visit or whatever, be sure to tell the business owner where you saw the ad. They'll likely be a more than a little surprised!

If you run a local business, charity or non-profit and would like to place an ad here, feel free to make up a 728 x 90 pixel graphic. As you can likely tell I'm no graphic arts whiz, so any help there would be great. Ads for festivals or special events are also welcome. Send the graphic, and a URL (link) to send people to when it is clicked, to the e-mail address:

I reserve the absolute right to refuse any ad, but please don't be offended if I do. It may take me days to get it on the site, and then it will only be placed on a page at random. I'd love to hear about the effectiveness of an ad if you do place one... although I don't get a lot of hits on the site, so chances of that are pretty low :)
